Desktop coaching for sustainable success
What is Desktop Coaching?
Desktop Coaching is like having a personal coach in your desktop / laptop by using a private blog and skype calls.
The coaching we offer is all about people and relationships at work ~ getting the best out of your relationship with yourself and your professional relationships with others, individuals, team members and people you report to.
Our vision is for people to love the work they do, and if they don't, to discover how. It's so often the case that team dynamics, interpersonal tensions and differences reduce happiness levels at work. We have a wealth of experience in self management skills and techniques for making choices about how to respond and remain true to yourself; how to manage individual and team relationships (and performance) and how to develop as a leader.
Desktop coaching provides you with:
A flexible approach to learning and applying your learning at work
Support
A sounding board
An external perspective
Objectivity
A way to offload frustrations, concerns and worries
A learning log
A journal
A tool to organise your thoughts and chart your progress
A record of your ideas and reflections
A source of inspiration
A way to celebrate your successes
Who’s it for?
Executives or managers who are keen to develop
Senior people who often work independently
Senior people who have limited support from their line manager
Teams who have limited time available for team development programmes
Why Desktop?
Your development becomes a regular habit
Desktop coaching empowers you to get coaching now and to keep it going instead of staying as an intention. It’s sustainable.
It’s so accessible
Wherever you can access the internet, you can access your personal desktop coach page.
It fits your schedule
Whether it’s the middle of the night or a Sunday afternoon, you can capture your thoughts and feelings, your progress and your work in progress, while they are all current.
It’s yours
Your own creation, it reflects you and your development.
It’s flexible
Take 2 words or 20 paragraphs to express yourself.
It’s cathartic
Offloading what’s on your mind is a relief. Articulating your thoughts, feelings, ideas or problems in words usually leaves you feeling a whole lot better even before you receive your response.
It builds confidence
Communicating what’s tough is somehow easier to an external professional than a manager or colleague. Clarity brings confidence.
It’s a check in point
You get another perspective and so minimise mistakes like saying / doing things inappropriately, being misinterpreted etc.
What’s involved?
First we talk. We either meet for 1 hour or have a 1 hour telephone / skype call to talk about how you can get the best out of desktop coaching.
We discuss your coaching requirements.
We agree what combination of the following options you prefer:
1:1 face to face meetings
1:1 video coaching e.g. (skype)
Blog coaching
small group coaching
team coaching
We agree how frequently you would like coaching sessions.
Your Desktop Coach blog
A Desktop Coach blog page for your personal use is created by your coach.
Only the people who know the name of your blog can access it ~ usually just you and your coach.
Your blog has a unique name and you have a password that enables you to add postings and comments at any time and from any internet access point.
Your coach responds to these postings usually within 24 hours.

What others say
Head of Finance
“I have found desktop coaching to be a really valuable source of support as I sometimes puzzle over the best approach to take with people in different situations. The blog means I can get my reflections down, get some feedback and suggestions on them and feel reassured I'm on track. This is much better than experiencing doubts and not wanting to bother other people. It's meant I can get my thoughts down, clear my mind and then get on with the rest of the day.
The speed of the replies that I have received via my blog has been first class. Almost 100% of the responses have been the same day and some of the replies have come back so quickly that I can act immediately on the issue and no delay has been caused."
Director
"My first year as a Director was a rollercoaster ride so my blog became a record of those fantastic moments of elation and cries for help. It’s often difficult, from this rollercoaster ride, to gain perspective and to keep a focus on the business..…
Firstly, in writing my blog, I am able to "dump" my obstructive thoughts somewhere and get back to business, then, when it’s appropriate, I can return to those thoughts and work through the situation and the feelings I was experiencing.
Secondly, having a People Intelligence coach means I have someone steady on the ground watching my ride on the roller coaster. With the wealth of experience, my coach can help me to prepare myself for the future twists and turns I face.
I value the commitment to confidentiality. The safe forum of the blog means I can express my fears and concerns confident these remain with my coach and confident I am supported in finding my own answers.
Why would I recommend using People Intelligence?
It's simple. I've yet to meet anyone as enthusiastic, insightful and committed to helping others achieve their potential. My success in my career progression is, I believe, directly connected to my investment in desktop coaching with them."
